A night to remember

Writer's picture: VANA MinistriesVANA Ministries

It has been a few months since our 2022 Gala Dinner, and we are still so grateful for how the event has impacted our ability to make a difference.

The night was a time of celebration as we reflected on the courage of all those involved in helping break the poverty cycle for orphaned and vulnerable children in Zimbabwe.

We are so grateful for our corporate sponsor - Strategic Care, Integral Homes - for their financial support and a special thanks to our event supporters who contributed gifts and items for auction.

One of the most amazing outcomes of the Gala Dinner was that we were able to sponsor another 8 children. This meant 8 children had their lives radically changed in a moment and were informed the next week that all their educational expenses were going to be met - school fees, uniforms, shoes and books.

Since the Gala Dinner, the team in Zimbabwe have been busy with things like:

  • Providing blankets and winter clothes to children

  • Starting a feeding program that provides a daily meal to over 750 school children

  • Organising the sponsored children to write a letter to their sponsors

  • Surveyed 2 sites for potential water bores

  • Produced peanut butter (in-house) for distribution to all sponsored children

  • Sewed new school uniforms (in-house) for almost all the children on the Sponsorship Program

A huge thank you to all our donors and sponsors for making it possible for VANA to assist so many orphaned and vulnerable children in Zimbabwe.

You are greatly appreciated. We simply could not continue this vital work without you.
