On Christmas morning we were able to bring smiles to so many children facing poverty in Zimbabwe, all thanks to your support.
Our incredibly generous donors - like you - helped us raise more than $60,000 during our annual Christmas Appeal in November and December. We have been truly touched by your contributions!
As a result, we were able to give 1000 children and their families the joy of spending Christmas morning opening a special Christmas Care Package from VANA Ministries.
Here’s a short video of the impact you have made on these children’s lives (you might need a tissue…!). The smiles on their faces just melt our hearts.
Each care package was able to give each child everyday food essentials for up to a month and includes:
2kg rice
2L cooking oil
2kg flour
10 packets of corn snacks
2L of soft drink
1 packet of spaghetti
1 bag of lollies
10kg of maize meal
2kg of sugar
1 packet of biscuits
1 chicken
1kg of potatoes
This may not seem like much, but to these families, it means the difference between being hungry and utter starvation.
And to have enough food to be able to sustain them for almost a month is giving these families the gift of life.
VANA Ministries Managing Director, Angela Motsi, who is on the ground in Zimbabwe was touched by the generosity of our donors:
“To all our donors, on behalf of VANA Zimbabwe and all the families that you touched through the Christmas Care packages, I would like to send our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you.
Thank you for your continued support, we value and greatly appreciate all you are doing for us.”
One of the 1000 children you helped, young Emmanuel, said he was so happy and grateful to receive his Christmas Care Package on Christmas Day.
“Thank you so much for the gifts. May God richly bless the hands that have given.”
Sadly, the food crisis in Zimbabwe is at an all-time high and every day more and more children will not have any food to eat.
That’s why we are dedicated to ensuring they have a future full of hope and possibility every day of the year. Not just at Christmas time.
